Experience the Hallé touch tour for blind audience members, a welcoming pre-concert activity at The Bridgewater Hall. These free tours offer a supportive and sensory introduction to the music, the orchestra, and the concert hall, helping you feel confident and comfortable before the performance begins.
When & Where
All touch tours take place at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. They start at 5.30pm, about one hour before selected Hallé concerts, and run for approximately 30 minutes.
You’ll be able to find specific touch tour dates on Touch Tours | The Bridgewater Hall.
If you are attending a different concert, the team may be able to arrange a touch tour for that event. Please get in touch to enquire.
Who is eligible?
Blind and visually impaired audience members are warmly encouraged to join. You’re welcome to bring a sighted guide, and guide dogs can accompany you throughout the venue.
What to expect
Each Hallé touch tour includes:
- A warm welcome from Hallé musicians and Bridgewater Hall staff
- A guided introduction to the hall and its accessible features
- A description of the orchestral layout specific to your concert
- A chance to meet musicians and, when possible, explore their instruments by touch
Throughout the tour, staff will answer questions and offer clear, detailed descriptions of the space and set-up.
Booking Required
You’ll need to book in advance to secure your place. Each tour can include up to six blind or visually impaired guests, each with one sighted guide. Please book at least one week before the concert. If there aren’t enough bookings, the tour may not go ahead.
