Whether you want to have a cuppa and a chat or join in with group discussions, games or occasional guest sessions, there’s something for everyone. Many people come along to meet new friends, catch up with familiar faces and enjoy a regular social routine in a welcoming environment. The Tuesday Social Group encourages these friendly interactions.
When & Where:
We meet every Tuesday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Avenue Methodist Church, Wincham Road, Sale, M33 4PL. The venue is accessible and easy to reach by public transport or car. The Tuesday Social Group meets in this convenient location.
Who is eligible?
The group is open to anyone in the Trafford area who is living with sight loss. You don’t need to be registered blind or partially sighted to join – if you’re affected by a visual impairment in any way, you’ll be very welcome. We also welcome carers and family members who would like to come along and get involved. The Tuesday Social Group is inclusive for all affected by sight loss.
What to expect:
Each session is different, but they all focus on social connection, friendship and support. Some weeks we simply catch up and chat, while others may include light activities, discussions or occasional visits from guests or local services. The atmosphere is always informal and relaxed, and you can take part as much or as little as you like.
Booking Required:
We kindly ask that all attendees book in advance, as we’re unable to accommodate drop-ins. This helps us make sure we have enough space and refreshments for everyone, and can offer the right level of support. Please make sure to book for the Tuesday Social Group meetups.
