The User Forum Bury is a space where members and volunteers come together to share views, raise suggestions, and shape the future of services. These monthly meetings provide a voice for people with sight loss. They help ensure the Society’s work remains relevant, inclusive, and informed by lived experience.
When & Where
Second Wednesday of each month, 10:30am to 12:00pm
Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, 6–8 Trafford Street, Bury, BL9 0TY
User and Volunteers Forums alternate monthly.
Who is eligible?
The User Forum is open to anyone who uses services at the Society and wishes to contribute ideas or feedback. The Volunteers Forum is for current volunteers. New participants are encouraged to attend — your voice matters.
What to expect
Each meeting includes updates from staff, time for open discussion, and a chance to give feedback on recent activities or upcoming plans. Topics vary. However, the aim remains the same: to improve services and create stronger links between users, volunteers, and staff.
Sessions are informal and accessible. You don’t need to speak publicly or prepare in advance, simply come along and take part in a way that feels comfortable. Staff and volunteers are present to support access and communication.
Because the forums take place regularly, they offer an ongoing opportunity to help shape how the Society works. Whether you attend once or regularly, your contribution is valued.
Booking Required
Booking is not essential. Nonetheless, we recommend letting the office know if you plan to attend or need support on the day.
