Are you a budding gardener with time on your hands?

Would you like to grow and tend to flowers, herbs and vegetables but don't have your own garden?

Henshaws College are looking for a Volunteer Gardener to make our boarders and pots look flourishing and attractive for our students.

At Henshaws we are devoted to making a difference to the lives of the people we support.  Sometimes this can be the smallest of things, and other times something that adds a real wow-factor to a person’s life.  We see our work changing people’s lives for the better every day. Together we go beyond expectations.’

Volunteers are involved in many services across Henshaws and make a vital contribution to us achieving our aims.

We are looking for enthusiastic and personable volunteers to look after our  gardens at our college based in Harrogate

Duties will include:

  • To assist with any general gardening, planting and upkeep of our plants and flowers
  • To work alongside our staff team on any major redevelopment projects within our gardens

A minimum of one morning or afternoon session per fortnight is required. Volunteers need to be flexible and have a willingness to get involved and help where required and have an ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide range of people.

Volunteering at our college will give you the opportunity to:

  • Meet new people
  • Take part in gardening
  • Gain experience in a supportive environment
