Welcoming service users back to our Tameside community hub
As face-to-face activities resume following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, we are pleased to be welcoming back service users to our community hubs across Greater Manchester.
Hear from Kathryn Riding, our Enablement Officer for Tameside, who explains what it has been like to welcome service users back to the Tameside community hub.
At our community hub in Tameside, our service users are so pleased to be back meeting again in person. There are some things that have changed, such as sanitising your hands, wearing a mask as you enter and leave the community room, and smaller group sizes, but the important things like having a good natter whilst enjoying a good brew have not.
Being healthy and socializing with people are so important so Henshaws teamed up with Be Well Tameside to offer info and advice in the first in person social groups, along with a quiz.
As the groups start back, we will be having more guest speakers, as well as ensuring there is plenty of time to make up for all the catching up we have to do.
If you or someone you know with sight loss is interested in joining one of our social groups, in Tameside or across Greater Manchester, please call 0300 222 5555 to find out more about what is available in your local area.
We have also produced an information leaflet detailing what to expect when you visit one of our hubs, and the measures we have implemented to keep staff, volunteers and service users safe as we resume face-to-face activities.
We can't do it without you
Henshaws rely on voluntary donations; our work just wouldn’t be possible without people like you. Your support empowers local people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to increase their independence, achieve their dreams, and go beyond expectations.
