We make more than art

On weekdays, our workshops are filled with Artmakers creating beautiful and unique pieces of art. Visitors are welcome to come in and see what we’re making. We are a social enterprise and your support is hugely important to us.

You can explore our accessible facilities including our cafe, shop, woodland walk and outdoor spaces. We also hold regular events including live music nights, craft fairs and family activities.

Henshaws Cafe

Our fully licensed café is open for breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks. There’s tasty homemade soup, sandwiches, topped jacket potatoes, cakes and more. Where possible, we use seasonal ingredients that are sourced locally or grown on site.

Please be aware that this is a training café and service may take a little longer than you are used to, but it’s worth the wait!

Henshaws Shop

In our shop, you’ll find an exciting range of products from Handmade at Henshaws, our social enterprise. You can purchase products made at the centre, including handmade cards, ceramics, bags, jewellery, bird tables, bird boxes and artwork.

It’s a great place to find an original card or present – and you’ll be helping to support our work as well.

You can also now buy our products via our Online shop.

FAQ’s about visiting our Arts and Crafts Centre

We are a very friendly centre and we want everyone to feel welcome here.

Please contact us before your visit if you have any questions about accessibility or the facilities we offer.

Kind words from our visitors

Buzzing with activities…in every room there is something exciting going on. The art created is diverse and tantalises all the senses.

Charlotte Visitor

I think the facilities, which include an amazing changing places toilet, are probably the best in Yorkshire. There is a definite workplace feel rather than a day centre, lots of fun, inclusion and a brill atmosphere.
