Annual leave

All employees working full-time contracts are entitled to an annual leave entitlement of 25 days plus 10 statutory holidays each year. This will be pro rata for part time and term time only employees.

Pension scheme

Working with Henshaws, you will have the opportunity to join our pension scheme where we will equal your contribution up to 3%. If you work in college, you may be eligible to join the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, depending on your role.

Learning and development

We are keen for everyone to develop to their full potential within Henshaws and we recognise that it takes significant investment from us and an ongoing commitment from you to make this happen.

In your first few months you will complete our corporate induction programme, designed to help you settle in quickly and give you a solid grounding in the work of the Society.

We  offer a wide variety of learning and development activities, including leadership and management development for our managers. There are also options for furthering your professional qualifications once you have passed the probationary period.

Employee Assistance Programme

Henshaws offers all employees, their partners and children up to age 21 access to a confidential service which provides information, support and professional guidance in managing difficulties at home or work. Short-term counselling and specialist advice is also available on a telephone basis through the programme.

Childcare Vouchers

To support staff with childcare responsibilities we are able to provide childcare vouchers, subject to conditions.

Eye Care vouchers

Henshaws offers all employees free eye care vouchers.

Hospital Saturday Fund

This Contributory Healthcare expenses scheme covers costs from everyday expenses such as visits to the dentist to hospital stays, dependant on the scheme you chose.

Long service awards

We believe that it is important to recognise a long term commitment to the organisation from our employees and as such we have a reward scheme that recognises service at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years.
