Learning braille gives people independence, literacy, and the enjoyment of reading. It is a vital way of ensuring that you can read private correspondence such as bank statements and hospital appointments, which otherwise might have to read by someone else.
There are many ways that braille can help you in your day-to-day life, including a wide choice of books and magazines, menus, and different games such as Scrabble available in braille. Our group members have various levels of braille ability, and come together weekly to learn and support each other in a friendly group environment. Find your local group –
