Students would like to invite you to an evening of art, music, drama and sensory stories to showcase all their wonderful work created over the past year.
We’re here to help people live life to the full. We don’t have the resources or the income of the large national charities – so we have to work harder – and we need your help!
There are lots of ways you can support our vital work, from volunteering to challenge events. Your help is essential for us to keep supporting people to go beyond expectations, and we'll be there with you every step of the way.
There are plenty of ways you can help us raise much needed funds, from sponsored sky-diving to cake sales – and you can even get your school or business involved too!
We’re always looking for volunteers to help across our services. We welcome all levels of experience for as many hours as you can generously give, and in return we offer you the chance to meet new people and a truly rewarding experience.
We hold a number different events all throughout the year across our services. Come enjoy live music at our monthly Friday Night Mix, or test your taste buds at our annual Call My Bluff event. There’s something for everyone, and we’d love for you to join!
Did you know that you can donate old, used stamps to us in exchange for funds? There’s so many ways you can help give to Henshaws, and your generous donations help us to continue enabling people with disabilities and their families to look forward to a more positive future.
Why choose Henshaws?
We are a specialist charity providing expert support, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss and other disabilities. Last year alone, we supported over 6,000 visually impaired people in the North of England.
Having a visual impairment or disability can mean people lose confidence in their future and find themselves isolated. We strive to support people to ensure that they do not feel alone, and that they have the skills and confidence to lead a live that is full of choice and opportunity.
We rely on your generous help to ensure we can continue this life-changing work, and we truly appreciate any way that you can support us.
Get your business involved
Supporting Henshaws can benefit you and your employees; through fundraising to volunteering, sponsorship to partnership, there are lots of different ways that you can get your business involved with Henshaws.

Alicia's fundraising story
“My daughter walked from Blackpool Tower to Old Trafford, a distance of 60 miles, wearing a blindfold and being led by her dad on foot and me behind in the family car to raise awareness and money for Henshaws.
It was much tougher than we thought but we received tremendous support along the way. We were overwhelmed by their support and the affection expressed for Alicia.
It was with some relief when we arrived at Old Trafford. I cannot begin to tell you how proud and inspired I was by what Alicia had done.”
