Why I volunteer for Henshaws

Volunteer Drivers – Manchester and Trafford

Henshaws is a northern charity supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to go beyond expectations.

We believe that, wherever they are, everyone has the right to an independent and fulfilling life. Our support, advice and training enables people and their families to build skills, develop confidence, help each other and look forward to a more positive future.

This is a key position supporting groups of people with visual impairments and other disabilities.

This is a key position to enable visually impaired people who have no means of transport and may be socially isolated to attend Henshaws social groups, events and activities.

The role may include:

  • To collect visually impaired and sometimes elderly service users from their homes and bring them to social group meetings, dropping them home again afterwards.
  • Assist clients at the venue (optional)
