Stefi’s Story

We love, love, love feedback here at Henshaws; it makes us extremely happy to know we’re making a difference in people’s lives.

We received some moving words from the parents of Stefi, who is autistic and suffers from a hip condition that makes it hard for her to be mobile without aids. They were worried about what Stefi’s future would hold for her since she was limited, and nowhere seemed to offer the right support and opportunities. When they heard about our Arts and Crafts Centre, they thought it may be somewhere that Stefi could be creative, and gave us a call. The call went well, they came to visit, and the rest is history.

In their feedback, Stefi’s parents said: “the overall feeling of the [Arts and Crafts Centre] was magic, very calm with a lot of happy art makers. Every morning we drop Stefi off she is met by her one-to-one helper and we know she is in very safe hands. Stefi is so happy at Henshaws, she loves the art workers and staff, it is like one big family.

This means so much to her and we have noticed she has become so much more confident, joining in with the activities, meeting new friends and even enjoying the superb cafe at Henshaws. Our lives have become so much more stable and calmer and we can see a great future for Stefi thanks to the fantastic work Henshaws and its staff are doing. Long may it continue.”
