Sunshine for Henshaws Spring Golf Day

On Wednesday the 28th of September 2022, Henshaws hosted its annual Charity Golf Day at Rudding Park, generously sponsored by Vertu Volkswagen Harrogate.
As the sun rose over the greens on a chilly Autumnal morning, the team at Henshaws knew it was going to be a beautiful day for a round of golf. The weather was smiling on the 22 teams who took part in the largest golf day that Henshaws had ever hosted, raising over £15,500! Much needed money, which will help us to support people living with sight loss and other disabilities to go beyond expectations.
The excitement started to build as the bacon sandwiches and coffees were enjoyed in the Rudding Park Clubhouse. Having travelled from all over the North of England, the first teams began to tee off on the short Repton course before moving on to the full Hawtree course. And the competition was strong! The rest of the teams set off thick and fast, as the forecasted rain kindly stayed away!
As the players came off the 18th hole, we wrapped up the day with a delicious BBQ served on the terrace whilst our 90 players had the chance to network and enjoy a drink in the bar. Everyone waited patiently for the scorecards to be totalled, and for the winners to be announced, with the raffle and silent auction draw providing excitement in the interim!
Nexus Vehicle Rental (pictured) won the 2022 Henshaws Charity Golf Day team prize and received a huge bundle of beer kindly donated by the lovely brewers at Cold Bath, Roosters, Daleside, Turning Point and Harrogate Brewing Co.
Our Best Player David Wragg (Centrica Business Solutions) won a bottle of Veuve Clicquot.
Our Longest Drive Leigh Skinner (Oak By Design) won a four Ball sleeve from Rudding Park.
Our Nearest the Pin Matt Hallett (Barclays) won a four Ball sleeve from Rudding Park.
