Clare Granger

President

Clare Granger is the former High Sheriff of North Yorkshire (2023-2024) and was the first High Sheriff of North Yorkshire to be appointed by King Charles III.

She is a qualified solicitor and was amongst the first intake of women at Downing College Cambridge where she read Law.

She worked in York before changing her career to become a professional artist studying fine art at Harrogate College and portraiture at the Charles Cecil Studio in Florence.

Her love of painting began in early childhood and she and has been represented by a London Gallery for more than 20 years.

Clare is passionate about the positive  impact of art has on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and has supported Henshaws art events, donating her own work and encouraging other artists to do the same.

Clare is married to Mark, and enjoys travelling which is often the inspiration for her paintings.
