Arts and Crafts Centre Car Parking

At Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre, we’ve introduced car parking charges as a vital step towards ensuring the safety of our Artmakers, visitors and staff. In recent months, the car park, which is for staff and those attending the centre, has become very busy and we want to ensure as safe environment as possible. As a charity, we have ensured that the charges when the car park is open to the public are reasonable.

Weekdays

All Day Monday to Friday the car park is for staff and visitors of the centre and café only. Please note, if you are not visiting the centre or café, you will receive a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) during these days. Please also note that bank holidays still classify as weekdays.

If you are a visitor of the centre, you are able to pre-organise car-parking by speaking to your contact at the centre or by visiting our café where our team will assist you.

Weekends

Charges on Saturday and Sundays apply from 6 am to 10 pm.

Hourly Rates:

1 hour: £1

3 hours: £2

All-Day parking: £4

These charges are thoughtfully set to strike a balance between affordability and supporting ongoing initiatives at Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre. We trust that these rates are reasonable and acceptable to our valued visitors.

Please note that ANPR cameras will enforce these charges, and payment details are available below.

There will be a time allowance during weekdays for taxis and support staff to drop off and collect Artmakers. Please be aware that this time amount will be communicated to relevant parties prior to fees being implemented. Should you stay longer than the allotted time a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) will be imposed.

Visitors to the Centre and Café will be able to organise car-parking with our friendly team within the café after purchase.

During the week Blue Badge Holders visiting the centre will be able to park free of charge. please follow the visitor guidance above by visiting the cafe to validate your car parking. During the weekend when the centre is closed Blue Badge holders will need to complete a purchase of a ticket as per the 3 options as described below.

The PCN for parking at Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre whilst restrictions are in place or without a valid ticket is £100 which is reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days. The appeals process will be confirmed once finalised.

We currently expect car parking charges to come into effect from the 15^th April 2024. Please note that this is subject to change and to read signage carefully to ensure that you don’t receive a Parking Charge Notice.

The introduction of ANPR cameras is part of our effort to streamline the parking process and ensure a seamless experience. The cameras capture license plate details for efficient parking management. Rest assured, data privacy and security are paramount, handled in accordance with regulations. For concerns about the ANPR system, reach out to our support team.

Recognising the importance of flexibility, we offer various payment methods:

Telephone Payment (Ring and Go): For those preferring a telephone option, use the Ring and Go service. Details on this method will be provided in advance, offering flexibility for those without cash or cards.

RingGo offers a hassle-free way to pay for parking using your mobile phone. With a short call to activate and another to end the transaction, you can park without the need for coins. Register online or on your phone, providing details for a seamless experience. If you have questions about using RingGo, our support team is ready to assist.

Absolutely! All funds generated through parking charges will be reinvested into Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre, ensuring a vibrant and enriching experience for our community members.
