Throughout the year, we process and package cards for the major holidays (Valentines, Easter, Christmas e.t.c)

We also process labels for all fairs, stalls and exhibitions.

Improvement of fine motor skills – threading tags, writing prices, packaging, use of double sided sellotape regularly)

Communication skills – talking to customers, being involved with videos for social media, writing and reading the news flash every week.

Money skills – Using the iPad to learn about correct change and adding up coins then transferring this into real life.

Professional Confidence – running Artmaker council once a month means Artmakers get a chance to run ideas by members of staff, be involved in some decision making, and air any concerns they have.

General confidence – Talking to people Artmakers have never met before, speaking in an interview capacity, interviewing other artmakers, confidence using money.

Artmakers learn how to process and package the products and then continue independently which helps them develop the skills required to work or run a small retail store.

We use a mix of speech, makaton, eye gaze, written communication and literacy skills.

Confidence in a more realistic situation which prepares them for real life scenarios.
