Arts & Crafts Centre

Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre remains open to art makers, recent Government announcements regarding delays to further lifting of restrictions does not affect our art makers.

We are delighted that we are continuing to increase our art maker numbers and workshop session attendance. Our shop is open weekdays 12noon to 4pm for people to call in to purchase handmade gifts, cards and art materials.

We are looking forward to the time when we can be fully open to members of the public and can welcome people back into our café and gardens, however for now these still remain closed.

Arts & Crafts Centre Update

We are continuing with managed numbers within workshops, and with bubbles and Covid restrictions and measures in place. We are very carefully following the government guidelines and we have included a summary below as to what the guidance is for our sector.

Based on the government guidance: “Meeting others and care – You can leave home to visit people in your support bubble ( if you are legally permitted to form one), to provide informal childcare for children under 14 as part of a childcare bubble (for example, to enable parents to work, and not to enable social contact between adults), to provide care for disabled or vulnerable people, to provide emergency assistance, to attend a support group (of up to 15 people), or for respite care where that care is being provided to a vulnerable person or a person with a disability, or is a short break in respect of a looked-after child. Support groups that have to be delivered in person can continue with up to 15 participants where formally organised to provide mutual aid, therapy or any other form of support – but they must take place at a premises other than a private home”.

We are of course keeping up with all of the guidance daily and if anything changes we will inform you all as soon as possible. Our Zoom workshops are continuing and developing, these are proving to be a positive connection for engagement and participation for many of our art makers at home.

If you would like to book any sessions to attend the centre or make enquiries about our Zoom sessions please contact us on telephone 01423 541888.

I like coming to Henshaws because I like art. This is my first time making mosaics. Learning to grout has been my favourite thing so far. I also like drawing my favourite characters by copying from the book. Coming here has made me more confident.”
